Ukrainian Marysia Nikitiuk won a prize at Cannes
Script of Ukrainian director Marysia Nikitiuk «When a tree falls» won ScripTeast Award named Krzysztof Keshlovskogo.
10 session of ScripTeast Award was held during Cannes Film Festival as part of the scenario of the Independent Cinema Foundation program. This year, for the prize were fighting 11 projects from 7 countries. Ukraine for the first time took part in the competition.
«This year, the Krzysztof Keshlevskogo award ScripTeast awarded scenario with incredible cinematic potential. Intoxicating inflorescence characters and narratives, woven to create an extraordinary world — at the same time terrifying, magical, sensual and exciting, and always very present. Creative writing fantasy brilliantly plays on the pages of the script, and we look forward to the on-screen incarnation of the author’s vision», — explained jury their verdict.
In addition to award, Marysia Nikitiuk received 10 000 euro on the embodiment of the script to life. Filming is scheduled for August, and the premiere will be held in 2017.
