The creative heritage of the artist Kelly Beeman
Kelly Beeman is a young painter from Bolivia, famous for her unusual illustrations and collaborations with famous Fashion houses.
Kelly Biman lived in Bolivia when her apartment was robbed. All the paintings, drawings and illustrations that the girl wrote during 6 years of work have disappeared. The girl fell into depression and for several months she could not even touch the paints. Now Kelly Beeman notes that this case helped her to generalize the accumulated experience and to form the unique and figurative style. Thanks to which she became famous all over the world.
After the robbery, Kelly Beeman moved to New York and started drawing. Illustrations of the artist are easily recognizable. The girls in the pictures lazily posing in couture outfits in the familiar surroundings – apartments, cafes and parks. Kelly Beeman dresses the heroines of her illustrations in extravagant things directly from the world podiums. In the paintings of the artist you can easily find the embroidered dress of Dries Van Noten, the graphic blue sweater Dior, the Loewe volumetric glasses from the last collections. The model in the dress of Balenciaga is located at the piano, and the sisters in J.W. Anderson and Prada are posing with a black cat. Girls in Kelly Beeman’s paintings resemble vintage illustrations. Similar models could be seen on the covers of Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar in the 1920s.
Kelly Beeman became famous all over the world after she published one of her watercolor portraits in her Instagram account. The painting depicted an androgynous model in a scarf and a silk blue shirt from the cruise collection J.W. Anderson of 2015, and under the post Kelly noted the page of the brand. Jonathan Anderson noticed the painting and wrote love it – that’s how their further cooperation began.
To date, Kelly Beeman draws on huge canvases in studio in London. With the illustrator there are such brands as Loewe, Elie Saab, Dior and others. Her works can be seen on the pages of Vogue China, Interview Magazine and Numero. And in her official account in Instagram, where Kelly Beeman demonstrates not only his recent work, but also the process of creating illustrations, the girl has more than 92 thousand subscribers.
