“The blonde in law comes back”
Studio MGM announced that it will soon begin work on the continuation of “Blonde in the Law” – one of the most popular films of the 2000s. Reese Witherspoon – the performer of the role El Woods – has already joined the negotiations. In 2001, the “Blonde in the Law” turned the career of the 25-year-old Witherspoon at the time and made her one of the highest paid actresses in the world. The first and second part of the “Blonde in the Law” earned a total of $ 250 million in rentals.
The first film tells the story of a beauty and the head of the university women’s club El Woods – the collective image of a blonde in pink: charming, funny, but at first superficial. The heroine Witherspoon goes after the suitor who threw her to Harvard, and, having learned that the groom already has a new girl, decides to concentrate on studying. So, a typical blonde, collapses stereotypes and goes to Harvard. In the second part in 2004, El Woods is a young lawyer who opposes testing cosmetics on animals. What El Woods will be in 2018, in the era of women’s marches and the #metoo movement?
In an interview with James Corden Reese Witherspoon admitted that in the new film El Woods will be even more ambitious. “It would be great if she became a Supreme Court judge or ran for president, she could very well become president of the United States!” Says the actress. It is likely that Reese will also act as the producer of the film. “Blonde in the law-3” will be her next big project after filming the series “Big Little Lies”, which are taking place right now.
The script for the film will work Kirsten Smith and Karen McCulla – they adapt the script, which was written by the author of the first two paintings of Amanda Brown. By the way, the story of “Blonde in the law”, invented by Amanda Brown, autobiographical – the writer told about her own studies at the Stanford Law School.
