Elina Svitolina became the fourth world racket
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina won a new title in the world of sports.
The girl became the fourth racket of the world. The reason for updating the personal and national record in the world classification was the tournament of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Premier 5. Which was held in Toronto, Canada. Elina Svitolina previously ranked 5th in the WTA ranking.
As for Elina Svitolina, and for Ukrainian tennis in general – this is a new record in singles category WTA. Also this record can be considered a repetition of the record of Andrei Medvedev. The ex-fourth world racket in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Alexey Medvedev took the fourth place in the ranking in the men’s classification in 1994 at the age of 19 and held on for three weeks.
Elina Svitolina became the first tennis player who for the whole history of the tour was able to get three titles in a row at Premier 5 tournaments from the start of the season. This system was introduced in 2009. Prior to this for all 8 seasons in the Women’s Tennis Association, no tennis player received three titles in this category, even in random order. Two titles for Premier 5 in one year were given to Maria Sharapova in 2001, Serena Williams in 2013 and 2014, and Victoria Azarenka in 2013.
In the current season for Elina Svitolina this is already the 5th cup. Prior to this tennis player managed to perform in Taipei, Dubai, Istanbul, Rome and Toronto. This year, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina retains the first place in the number of titles this year.
«I’m happy with the way I play, we work with my team to make me show great tennis. To maintain a positive attitude is part of growing up, life after tennis exists. I think I need to be more open to many things. In this I have succeeded in the last year. I try to focus not only on tennis. Probably, in ten years, when I will probably finish with the sport, I will have my life. Which I am also going to live happily», — shared Elina Svitolina.
