Botter – winner of the festival of fashion and photography Hyères 2018
In France, the 33rd festival of fashion and photography was held under the name Hyères 2018. This year the festival jury was headed by designer Haider Ackermann. Four days after the start of Hyères 2018, the jury named the winner of this year. The Grand Prix of the festival received the Botter brand, created by the designers Rashemi Botter and Lisi Herrerbuch. Also marked this year, the Canadian Marie-Eva Lecalavier (prize from the brand Chloe) and the Belgian Sarah Broylant.
The main sources of inspiration for Botter and Herrerbach were the culture and way of life of the inhabitants of the Caribbean region, from where the Botter family originated. Members of the jury noted not only the creative brand, but also its responsible approach to fashion. “In their collection, they talk about important things, for example, the consequences of human life and its impact on the ocean,” – commented director Jean-Pierre Blanc.
Thanks to the victory at the Hyères 2018 festival, the Botter team will be able to implement any of their projects in one of the Chanel Metiers d` Art studios, which usually participate in preparations for the couture and off-season shows of the French House. They will also receive a check in the amount of 15 000 euros. By the way, this year Botter is still participating in the no less prestigious competition for young designers LVMH Prize.
For more than 30 years of existence, the festival of fashion and photography in Hyères has helped to become famous for many designers – for example, the teams of Viktor & Rolf and Peter Pilotto. In 2014, there was also noted the Ukrainian Yulia Yefimchuk, who received a special prize from Opening Ceremony for her collection dedicated to the image of a Soviet female worker.
