Blake Lively: “If you believe in what you are doing, then everything will turn out”
People like to draw parallels between my life and scandalous stories from “Gossip Girl”. I dress just like my character in the series, so they think that I live this life and outside the set. I recently shared information about how many guys I had in my life [four], and people such: “It’s impossible!”. But it’s true. I was with very few people. If I’m not with someone who captivates and inspires me, then I’d rather myself.
In my life I adhere to the principle – if you believe in what you are doing, then everything will turn out, because even if people do not like what you are doing, you feel happy, because you have not betrayed yourself.
I did everything myself. I’ve never had a special mentor who taught me the actor’s subtleties, but I spent all my childhood with my parents who had acting classes, and I did not have a nanny who would sit with me. I am a very modest and quiet person – this is a big secret, so do not tell anyone – these courses helped me to break down those barriers that kept me from inside. It’s like nature against education – by nature I’m quiet, but I was raised so that I had to get out of my inner shell and shine.
I did not start acting until I was sixteen, but when I was a kid everyone asked me: “Why do not you want to play movies like the rest of your relatives?” And they were in charge of me: “She needs a childhood! We would never have allowed her to do this, even if she wanted to. “
When a man knows how to dress well, this is definitely attractive. What I like most, is when someone, a guy or a girl, is exquisite and they feel a retro spirit – you can take a picture of them, and they can exist at any time.
To be near me, you need to love food, or I’ll show you the most annoying person you’ve met. I’m in a big culinary phase. That’s all I’m talking about.
I hope that one day I will give birth to two girls. If I do not give birth, then at least adopt. And if I do not give birth to girls, then children will grow up to be transvestites (laughs). Because I have a maniacal love for shoes with heels, awesome bags and dresses, I can not stand if the children do not share my love.
My assistant calls me in fashion houses, but I always choose the outfit, shoes, ornaments myself and very often I put my hair and do make-up for the events. Sometimes I think, God, why do I do all this myself? This is so much extra work!
It seems to me that in jeans, I lose myself as a woman. I really feel really beautiful only in feminine images: dresses and flowing skirts. But that the image does not seem too sugary, I adore combining light dresses with a scythe.
I like to experiment with food. Traveling to different countries, I always try to find somewhere a new dish or an unusual seasoning. Once in a restaurant in New Orleans there was a funny case. I liked the sauce, and I asked to be delivered to my home by mail. But the manager refused, referring to the ban of quarantine service. Then I jokingly suggested that he sew a bottle of sauce in a teddy bear and then send it to me. Apparently the manager did not understand the joke and absolutely seriously replied: “I’m not a drug dealer to do this!”.
