And they belong to the king of pop art Andy Warhol. A Ukrainian by birth, Andrey Vargola, could have celebrated his 89th birthday. But fate decreed otherwise.
In the sixties Andy Warhol created a new direction in art, than he won frenzied popularity. In addition to paintings, Andy Warhol was engaged in cinematography. In his arsenal, several dozen short films and 472 portrait screen tests. Also, the artist created music covers for popular artists.
Until now, many designers are blooming artist Andy Warhol. Elements from his paintings in his collections used Dior, Diana von Furstenberg and others.
“For me, Warhol means a lot,” – Raf Simons explained his choice after showing the collection in Paris. – I was interested in the elegance and sensuality of his early works. His graphics absolutely naturally merged into our collection. “
In honor of the 89th birthday of Andy Warhol in Kiev, an exhibition of the artist and a close friend of Andy himself – Christopher Makos is held. The author personally came to the Ukrainian capital to present his project “Christopher Makos: The Time of Andy Warhol”.
