Tom Ford’s exhibition at the Gucci Museum
Gucci Museo in Florence tells the story of 95-year-old fashion house. Creative Director Alessandro Michele filled the 10-year gap in the history of the brand. That is a time when Tom Ford headed Gucci from 1994 to 2004. Prior to that, he has been working at fashion house only for 4 years.
90s considered for Gucci is not the most successful years. The fashion house suffered losses from bankruptcy and was saved by Tom Ford. The designer not only changed the aesthetics of the brand, but also has set a new trend in the fashion industry with the provocative ad campaigns and sexual looks. The stylist Carine Roitfeld and photographer Mario Testino together with Tom Ford created brightest and most scandalous campaigns.
The exhibition includes not only ad campaigns, but also outfitss from past collections. Alessandro Michele personally selected the 54 outfits, created by Tom Ford. Accessories will also be presented in the museum. The exhibition is framed in shades of purple, as a tribute to sexuality, which made designer as brand aesthetics.
