Preview of Ukrainian Fashion Week
From 4 to 10 September, the Ukrainian Fashion Week of the spring / summer 2018 season will be held in Kiev.
“The main criterion by which each Fashion Week is judged is the credibility and achievements of designers who participate in it. In this season at UFW you will see 67 designers. 67 success stories that inspire the country and the world. Even in the short half-year between the shows at UFW the history of each participant was enriched with new victories. That have an impact on the development of the fashion industry of Ukraine as a whole, ” – Irina Danilevskaya, the chairman of the organizing committee of the Ukrainian Fashion Week, shared.
This year, Ukrainian Fashion Week celebrates its 20th anniversary. During this time Ukrainian Fashion Week has turned into a very important component of the Ukrainian fashion. Designers participating in UFW shows are sold in 42 countries. UFW, in partnership with international companies, produces 6 foreign projects per year in London, Paris, Milan, Tbilisi, Toronto and Warsaw. Also Fashion Week develops international business programs for Ukrainian designers with foreign mentors. And attracts Ukrainian designers to the state program of export development.
UFW is one of the largest in Ukraine platforms for the development of young talents. So in the framework of UFW is the New Generation Day platform for young designers. The organizers combined shows of young designers in the independent platform New Generation Day, which will be held September 9 in the Art Arsenal. On the podium of New Names, there will be a display of 6 designers. In total, 16 designers will show their collections this day.
UFW also develops cooperation with international projects. So in the framework of UFW scouts LVMH Prize. Vogue Talents select potential participants of the most prestigious international competitions for young designers. Farfetch will partner with the joint project of Ukrainian Fashion Week and British Council. And select 7 young designers who will participate in the Fashion DNA program, which will be held for the third time.
And in September an international educational project will begin in partnership with the British Council and the British fund for business development and technological innovation Nesta. The program has announced trainings for the creative economy in the fashion sector.
