Paris Haute Couture: Georges Hobeika, Dior
Lebanese designer George Hobeyka presented a couture collection of Georges Hobeika Couture FW’17-18 in Paris. The brand showed the evening gorgeous outfits, which Georges Hobeika is so famous for.
The creation of the designer’s collection was inspired by solar Spain, or rather the southern region of Andalusia. In the line you can see the ornaments and motifs of the Andalusian palace of the Alhambra.
This year, Christian Dior’s couture show surpassed itself. And it’s not even in the new collection, but in the scale of the event, which was organized by Fashion House. An amphitheater with a large dome in the air was erected in front of the Palace of Disabled People in Paris. To decorate the location was invited artist Pietro Ruffo. The Italian master drew a map of the globe on the dome in the form of a star. They were not continents, but animals that replaced them.
This concept of the picture meant only one thing – the abundance of an animalistic print in a new collection of Christian Dior collections. “Christian Dior in the world” – they read prints on clothes. Indeed, at the time of the show the guests were transferred to the mysterious Asian jungle and the hot savannah.
In the new Christian Dior collection, you can see long raincoats, hats, suits and caps. It was not without lavish skirts, jackets. The creative director of the brand Maria Grazia Chiuri did not forget about the traditions of Dior and added to the collection sophisticated manual techniques. And also embroidery, lace, tweed elements, wool, applique, organza, mesh.
