Paris Fashion Week: Chloe, Rochas
The collection of the spring / summer season 2018 was the debut for the new creative director of Chloe Natacha Ramsay-Levi. As a basis Natacha Ramsey-Levi took the look of Gaby Agyen, the founder of the brand. It is Gaby Agyen who is usually given the notion of pret-a-porter. According to Natacha Ramsey-Levi, she wanted to make a collection in the form of a tribute to the intellectual power and independence of Gaby Agyen, as well as style of Chloe, in which democracy harmonizes with absolute femininity.
In the new collection of Chloe, you could see airy dresses in Victorian style with unusual illustrations in the form of eyes, patterns and embroidery. Natacha Ramsay-Levi used exoteric illustrations and totem amulets.
As materials the designer used aged flax and natural materials. Among the main colors in the collection you could see white, red, terracotta and gold – the colors of Egypt, the homeland of designer Gaby Agyen.
Among the innovations of Natacha Ramsey-Levi, you can see the clarity of cuts, simple looks and flashy accessories. The designer noted that modern women increasingly have to show their inner strength – one of the simplest and most beautiful ways to do it.
The spring collection of Alessandro Dell-Acqua was a colorful story, a fantastically history of cloth, a story about the rich east and vintage. It was a story of resistance, a rejection of the randomness of the current culture. So the designer described his new creation. Also, Alessandro Dell-Acqua noted that he created a terrific reason for changing the wardrobe.
Colors and fabrics were intense, with rich shades of purple, yellow, scarlet, jade and royal blue. Black jacquard was decorated with oriental patterns.
“This is an oriental mood because of the material and form, but I do not want a cliche,” – Dell-Acqua said behind the scenes.
In some cases, for example, green and yellow, he deftly turned the jacquard inside out. Playing a silver lining against the bright external result of a perfectly woven silk. There were no satin coats, multifaceted sculptural frills on a black dress. The designer made it clear that his woman is not your usual girl. And to wear artsy things in the middle of the day for her in the order of things.
