Paris Fashion Week: Chanel, Miu Miu
Traditionally, Karl Lagerfeld arranges large-scale fashion shows under the Grand Palais dome. For the spring / summer season 2018 Karl Lagerfeld introduced a green tropical garden with a sheer rock and a natural waterfall of Naigarsk. The wooden bridge on the water moat acted as a podium for Chanel.
“Did you feel this?” – asked Karl Lagerfeld rhetorically after the fashion show. “Molecules from the water, when you inhale them, are very useful to you! That’s why you feel good in such places, ” – said Karl Lagerfeld.
On the podium paced models in plastic boots, transparent hats and raincoats. Karl Lagerfeld uses in the collection all shades of blue. So you can trace the references to the sea, oceans and sky. In the role of accessories, transparent earrings appeared, referring to the frozen drops of water.
Among the materials in the new collection you can see favorite techniques – tweed and denim. Tweed croep tops, elongated shorts, dress with a jacket, decorated with fringe or dresses with asymmetrical inserts at the waist. Jackets and skirts made of denim were decorated with transparent plastic fringe. In the collection you can also see dresses with hand embroidery, paillettes, pearls and crystals.
The new collection of Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu resembled a smart boy’s outfit from the 50’s and 60’s. It was during this period that the representatives of the baby boomer generation, including Miuccia Prada herself, began to create their own style. In the 80’s they moved to clubs. Miuccia Prada did not forget about this period of her youth: lace dresses, flannel shirts and sweaters of preppy students of private colleges. According to the designer, she dedicated a new collection to Milan in the 80s.
In the collection of the spring / summer 2018 Miu Miu the main emphasis was placed on the multilayered. The designer offered to wear bright knitted tops complete with transparent tulle or lacy light summer dresses. Also in the collection you could see leather coats with scuffs, a coat in a cage, with floral patterns. As accessories, Miuccia Prada turned to headbands in the style of the 60s.
