NYFW: Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, VIN + OMI
Oscar de la Renta
A fashion show from Oscar de la Renta was held at Sotheby’s in New York. Creative Brand Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia presented luxury dresses in an industrial interior. The new collection of the spring-summer season 2018 is characterized not only by elegant dresses for the red carpet. Surprisingly, in the collection Oscar de la Renta appeared denim overalls, which seemed to be stained with paint. Also on the podium you could see fur coats, flounces, jabots and colorful costumes.
The fashion house Carolina Herrera also changes its vision for style. In the spring-summer collection of 2018, restrained and conservative outfits appeared. The collection is made in yellow, pink and blue tones. We can see bustier dresses, playful flounces and frills.
VIN + OMI
The young brand VIN + OMI also was marked at Fashion Week in New York. After all, at the fashion show was a 72-year-old model. She was the frontwoman of the Blondie group – Debbie Harry. VIN + OMI has developed a collection of environmentally friendly materials. For example, the brand created artificial leather from pressed fungi, and latex from plant materials. Star Debbie Harry supported the idea of the brand and reminded everyone that the problem of garbage disposal in our time is very acute.
“I believe that they pursue an excellent goal and focus on the right things, trying to make such environmentally sustainable materials the materials of the future. I think it is very important for everyone to learn about this and join the initiative, because this applies to all of us, ” – added Debbie Harry.
