Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016
Riccardo Tisci in the new collection appealed to the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Greece, which resulted in prints and geometric patterns. There were also militarized jackets. Fur and leather were the main materials in the collection, referring to prehistoric times. Also were presented the delicate looks in bright colors: translucent lace dresses and more classic options as narrow skirts, trouser suits and wide shorts. High boots in snakeskin with dresses in tune were the only accessories in ethnic looks.
Demna Gvasalia, replaced Alexander Wang as creative director of Balenciaga, presented first collection. As a start, designer decided to turn to the classic elements of Balenciaga, adding street style. Checkered suit and austere dresses were given a new form, followed by large cushions deflated shoulders, deep neckline and men’s shirts, randomly dressed in skirts of medium length. Bias cut dresses with floral prints, made of scraps of different fabrics diluted stringent looks in the collection.
