New York Fashion Week, Fall/Winter 2016: Marc Jacobs
The “Dessert” of the New York fashion week became the show of autumn-winter collection famous designer Marc Jacobs. And this is not ordinary dessert, but eclectic, sometimes even gothic.
The first image of the collection has already given the audience an understanding of what they should expect: black eyes, black lips and hair in the style of the 20’s, sweatshirt with rock singers, long skirt, tall platform – everything seemed enchanting.
Furthermore, the new collection consists of skirts with sequins in Victorian style, blouses with bows, fur coats, long capes, voluminous dresses and more. The author used classic silhouettes, decreases and increases outer clothing, used all kinds of textures, united different prints. As you already guessed, the color palette was quite gothic but elements of pink, purple and beige brought brightness into collection.
Besides the collection, audience remembered Lady Gaga’s exit in a gray-blue long coat and soft, light green blouse. She, incidentally, called the 30-centimeter platform too low.
