Jiri Kalfar deservedly has the title of eco-conscious designer. The Czech designer has presented its collections for four seasons within the framework of Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days. Traditionally, the main thrust of Jiri Kalfar is the sustainable principles of environmental protection.
In the new collection of the spring / summer season 2018, Jiri Kalfar draws attention to the global problems of our planet. Namely, the question of the extinction of honey bees.
“This is an ecological message, because now the bees are on the verge of extinction. In the collection, I tried in every way to visualize this little creature, using the appropriate shapes and colors, “- said Jiri Kalfar.
The new Jiri Kalfar collection of the spring / summer season 2018 included an eclectic combination of handmade, couture and the use of disposable materials. On the podium, you could see silk dresses and overalls with elements of velvet and sequins.
Jiri Kalfar received the title of the best male designer for the version of Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days 2017. So on the podium you could see several male images with bright colors and bold details.
The location for the Eupraine collection from Jean Gritsfeldt was Boryspil Airport. And as a decoration was chosen a real Boeing 757. Also, the designer invited to display a collection of models of all ages. According to the designer, this symbolizes the versatility of fashion. The main theme of the collection was the basic wardrobe of a modern traveler.
In the collection you could see the symbolic elements of the Jean Gritsfeldt brand: knitwear with printed pattern and deconstructive cut, applicative embroidery on natural fabrics and eco-suede. Not without the elements of street couture – denim, strewn with Swarovski crystals, voluminous jackets and hoodies with paillettes.
