Mario Testino closed his creative agency
Photographer Mario Testino closes his New York office of the creative agency Mariotestino +, which he opened less than a year ago. Its head Brigid Walsh left her leadership position back in March, and then three more people left the team. Instagram-account of the agency is not updated since January, despite 25 thousand subscribers.
The closure of the agency was the result of the accusation of Mario Testino in harassment. Earlier in January 2018, Condé Nast (Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair) reported that it would no longer order and publish the work of Mario Testino. Such a statement was made after the publication of the New York Times investigation, in which 13 male models and assistants reported numerous instances of sexual violence by the photographer in their direction. According to men, during the photo sessions, photographers were forced to touch themselves and their intimate places and masturbate, as a result of which some of the models and assistants mentioned in the investigation were forced to permanently leave the fashion business.
However, Mario Testino continues to make commercial surveys, but it is not known who exactly orders the photographer’s work now. Among other areas of his work – the production of books, the creation of exhibitions and media projects.
Own agency Mario Testino opened in 2007, and then it was called Higher & Higher. In 2013 he gave the project his name. Among the clients of Mariotestino + were Burberry, Carolina Herrera, Vogue and Mercedes-Benz. The main office of the agency Mariotestino + in London will continue to work.
