Louis Vuitton Resort 2019
Last week, the Fashion House Louis Vuitton announced the extension of the contract with Nicolas Zheskier. The designer previously attached his collections to the Louvre, but this time the creative director of the French brand Louis Vuitton Nicolas Zheskier chose an equally exclusive but more confidential venue for the cruise collection show. Fashion show of the new cruise collection of the spring / summer season 2019 took place in the south of France in the Museum of Fondation Maeght. The show was the fifth in the career of Nicolas Zheskier, after which the designer decided to show cooperation with the famous stylist and former editor of American Vogue, Grace Coddington. The stylist created a collection that included unusual cartoon accessories. Cats, pumpkins, dogs and old chests under the guidance of Grace Coddington have turned into bags and monograms. Above the LV monogram, the sketches of cats drawn by Grace and the dog by Nicolas Zheskier were printed, and the print itself was transferred to bags and accessories, as well as to an exclusive pajamas suit in which Grace Coddington came to the show. Among the guests of the show Louis Vuitton Resort 2019 you could notice Emma Stone, Jennifer Connelly, Leah Seydou and Ruth Nega. He invited all his guests to the top of the hill, where the Fondation Maeght museum of 1964 is located, where you can find works by such artists as Alberto Giacometti and Marc Chagall.
“This cruise show is dedicated to eccentricity. The point is that a person can have his own style and can influence others. I like eccentric people, those who mix things in their own way, “- said Nicolas Zheskier.
The basis of the cruise collection was eccentricity: the designer presented bold, with slightly hyperbolized forms, outfits from a wide variety of textures. Images combine leather things with pronounced geometric shapes, for example a black jacket with a belt, blouses with a print in the form of chess markings in the spirit of the 1960s with light draperies, as well as mini-dresses in the style of bokho-chic with airy ruffles and lacing and restrained sets for the office. Continuing the theme of the last show, Nicolas Zheskier fills the collection with futuristic elements in the form of boots to the middle of the hip, sunglasses and surrealistic forms.
