Jean GRITSFELDT fall-winter 2018/19 lookbook
The creation of the collection for the fall / winter season 2018/2019 by Ukrainian designer Jean Gritsfeldt was inspired by nature with all its laws and riddles. So in the shooting of the Luckbook called Frozen Star, ice was used as a symbol of something unshakable, but at the same time subject to human and climatic changes. Ice and mirrors on the frames like an arena for the struggle, determining the strong and weak, the champion and the defeated.
The Frozen Star collection became a real event. Instead of models, the show was opened by juniors of the Ukrainian hockey team, followed by models skating on skates.
Skirts and ponchos in the autumn-winter 2018/2019 collection seem to be sewn from colorful fan scarves, sweaters decorate the silhouettes of athletes, and ultra-short skirts, raincoats with gold accents, pied-up jackets and suited jumpsuits with stars resemble elegant costumes of skaters. Jean uses the entire palette of the Northern Lights – from deep blue to sky-blue, adorns knitted sets with penguins and icebergs.
The designer has put models on skates not only for the sake of a spectacular show, for him, ice is a symbol of natural strength, an arena for struggle that determines the strong and weak, the champion and the defeated. However, sometimes it seems that Jean uses displays to fulfill his childhood fantasies: two years ago he flew under the dome of the circus, and this season triumphantly went to the arena in translucent sleeves and black trousers with shiny stripes.
