The story of success of the Ukrainian model Irina Kravchenko
Irina Kravchenko, one of the most successful Ukrainian models, began her career at 23 years old. In the beginning she didn’t take it seriously, because until then she changed several jobs, she worked as a gardener, a graphic designer and art teacher.
The story of success of the model began after invitation to the opening Alexander Wang fashion show at the New York Fashion Week. This was followed by an article in The New York Times and Style.com named her the new top model. Before that fateful fashion show Irina Kravchenko came out on the catwalk for such brands as Prada, Kenzo, Jil Sander, Haider Ackermann and Givenchy.
Now Irina Kravchenko is working with five modeling agencies around the world. In one season, she goes to the podium 40 times. Among the shows, in which Irina Kravchenko took part — Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckham, Jil Sander, Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Miu Miu, Kenzo, Nina Ricci and Valentino.
Irina Kravchenko is currently the first and only Ukrainian model that graced the cover of Vogue Ukraine. Model also took part in photoshoots for Interview, V Magazine, SSAW Magazine, CR Fashion Book, Another Magazine, Numero and Vogue. As well as becoming the face of Prada and Valentino campaigns.
Despite a successful career in modeling business, Irina Kravchenko says, that her main hobby is drawing. «Drawing is my hobby. But all my pictures — it’s just times when I want to do it. I don’t know in advance what I will draw, I start and then appears idea. This is a purely emotional moments. I didn’t draw for special», — says model.
