Femmes en Dior
From Marilyn Monroe and Lady Diana to Princess Margaret and Rihanna — Fashion house Dior has collected in the ranks of fans not only stylish, but also influential women. It is to them is dedicated exhibition by fashion historian Florence Muller.
The exhibition immerses visitors in the history of fashion house, divided by historical periods with the help of those who wears Dior. Her Royal Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, Olivia de Havilland, Jackie Kennedy, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Marilyn Monroe, Charlize Theron, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, Emilia Clarke and Rihanna — looks of these outstanding women will be be seen in the exhibition.
Also as part of Femmes en Dior will be a presentation of the book «Women in Dior – Sublime Elegance of a Portrait», written by French journalist and fashion expert Laurence Banaimom. The book contains portraits of famous fans fashion house, and describes its history, the process of creating celebrity dresses from the moment of the first sketch to the production process. A separate section is dedicated to the Dior Muses.
The exhibition will run until September 25 at the Museum of the house Christian Dior in Granville.
