Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda fall/winter 2016
Paris Fashion Week ended, but designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have brought haute couture to Naples. Show Alta Moda was held in the streets of the southern city. The main guest and muse of the show was the 81-year-old actress and legend Sophia Loren. She inherited not only a place of honor in the front row, her name, embroidered with gold thread, can be seen on clothing models.
«This is my place, my land. Sometimes. It is not just about the clothes, It is inspired by Sophia, by Naples, and tradition. She grew up not far from here, and many of her movies were set here. Naples is still like this today, very poor on one hand, but with this incredible Baroque architecture, the Spanish influence on the other. There are all these specialist craftspeople in the little shops here, family businesses, each making something differently. It is authentic», — said Domenico Dolce.
Alta Moda collection included a sign, according to the designers, the Italian elements — references to football uniform, clothes, apparel resembling the higher clergy of the Catholic Church and, of course, looks, that Sophia Loren wore in her early films.
