Collection Jil Sander Resort 2019
Fashion designers Lucy and Luke Meyer presented a new elegant collection that continues the updated version of Gil Sander’s signature refinement.
Designers describe the new collection, noting that the images turned out clean, elegant, while strong and filled with pristine beauty. A brand with a strong heritage and a specific identity – Jil Sander in the last few years struggled to find his own way to refresh his image for customers and therefore return to the heyday of the brand. Today, the market is dominated by maximalism and indomitable street fashion, and so restrained sophistication, rationalism and minimalism can be considered incompatible. But in fact, good taste will never go out of fashion. Everyone knows that minimalism in the Italian market is not often met, but Jil Sander always stands out along with the epitoping collections of other brands.
Designers demonstrated a realistic wardrobe, filled with urban, wearable, but not without spectacular elements things. Here you can find direct silhouettes, deconstructive cut, exaggerated cage “vichy” – different versions of the same things in unusual variations that the adept of minimalism will appreciate. The collection is made in basic colors – sand, beige, white and blue with splashes of black and blue. Strict, clear lines of costumes, a hyperbolized “Vichy” cage that looks like a giant chess board in the spirit of Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”, plastic bags turned into bags and dresses resembling sunbeds somewhere in the south of France – these things according to the idea of designers should convey a sense of closeness, warmth and lightness.
“Of course, we always think about the future and about where the world is going,” Luke explained, “because this problem faces us every day, and it will not disappear in the near future. But even if we are moving into a more radical future with more radical changes, there will still be ideals and things that make us very human, such as a sense of closeness and the need for comfort or enjoyment with our daily rituals. “
