Colette Paris concept store stop working
Today, July 12, it became known that one of the most famous concept-stores in Paris is closed.
This became known from the official account in Instagram co-owner of the concept-store Sarah Andelman.
«All the good things come to an end, after 20 magical years of work, Colette will close its doors forever on December 20 this year. We will work until the last day, without making any changes. Colette will continue to produce new collections, collaborations and other innovations, our site will also work until the last», — wrote Sarah Andelman.
The main reason for the withdrawal of the concept-store from the fashion market is the resignation of Collet Rousseau. The owner decided to retire, along with it will take the whole Colette era.
«Colette Rousseau would like to take time for herself, and Colette can not exist without Colette»,— the official statement explained.
On the site of the concept-store Colette, a boutique of the Saint Laurent Fashion House may appear. At the moment, both brands are negotiating about the location on the street Saint Honoré.
«We will be proud that the brand with such history, with which we often worked, will take our place. We are pleased that Saint Laurent is showing a serious interest in our project. And this can also open up good opportunities for our employees», — Colette said.
This year, Colette loudly celebrated its 20th anniversary from the opening day. In honor of the jubilee, the concept store planned 20 collaborations and issued capsule collections in turn – Balenciaga, Birkenstock, Lacoste, Converse. The latest was the Esteban Cortazar capsule. Also in honor of the 20th anniversary of Colette launched an installation with the Brooklyn Design Bureau Snarkitecture. Colette collaborations are planned not only with fashion brands.
Within the framework of the Colette collaboration with the Edward Bess cosmetic brand, there will be a blue lip balm and cheekbones changing color. The result of cooperation with Nike, Converse, Club75, Joshua Sander & Smiley and Dr. Martens will become a limited collection of shoes. Maud Heline will release the top in the company’s polka dots, and the French musician Pedro Winter – a collection of CDs.
The concept store Colette was opened by journalist and writer Colette Russo in 1997. In the beginning, she managed her store. But in recent years she handed over the reins of her daughter Sarah Andelman. Colette’s concept-storing was the policy of the discoverer. It was here that you could see the collections of young and talented but still unknown designers. It was in Colette that such famous brands as Proenza Schouler, Mary Katrantzou and Rodarte started to be sold at the time.
