Chris van Ash led Berluti
The Italian brand Berluti announced the name of the new creative director. He was the designer Chris van Ash. He will replace as Haider Akermann, who left the brand last week.
Haider Akermann left the male brand of Berluti three seasons after his appointment as the creative director of the historical brand (it was founded in 1895). The brand is part of the concern LVMH and has always been very classic. One of Haider’s tasks was to refresh his codes and rejuvenate the clientele. He was quite successful in this – for example, in the white Berluti costume for “Oscar” this year came Timothy Shalame. Antoine Arnault, the brand’s director, thanked the designer for the work and evolution of the brand under his leadership.
“I’m immensely proud of what I could do for this house and come up with amazing things together with a team that gives its work with all the passion,” said Haider Ackermann.
“We have known Chris for several years, I have always admired his work in Dior Homme and look forward to our cooperation,” commented the appointment of Antoine Arnaud, CEO of Berluti.
“I’ve always wanted to build bridges between the heritage of the house and modernity.” Antoine Arnault told me about his ambitions for Berluti, and I very much welcome this new challenge, which perfectly matches my desire and vision, “says the designer. Chris van Ash will show his first collection for Berluti in January next year.
Earlier, the designer for 11 years headed the men’s line Dior, but in late March, announced his departure from the post of creative director of the brand. “After 11 years of work for Dior Homme, my mind and heart are full of experience, and I leave this beautiful house to try something else,” commented the designer. “I’m grateful to Bernard Arnault for trusting and for appointing me to this position, as well as Sidney Toledano and Serge Brunswig for their warm welcome to Dior and continued support and cooperation during all these years. ” In his place appointed Kim Jones.
