Chakshyn spring’18 collection preview
For the new spring / summer season 2018, the Ukrainian brand Chakshyn drew inspiration from the Renaissance.
The design duo of Dima Chayun and Anton Yakshin created a collection in contrast to the comparison of the Renaissance and contemporary art. Asking the main questions: “Does art exist in general?” and “What is its essence and purpose?”.
Dima Chayun and Anton Yakshin were inspired by images from the paintings of Titian, Veronese and Raphael, which they transformed into forms of modern design. So there were shortened jackets with deconstructed belts, reminiscent of the elements of a man’s waistcoat. Asymmetrical dress-kotts of knitwear, decorated with silk threads and accessories created from raw river pearls.
Do not forget Dima Chayun and Anton Yakshin to make and direct references to the Renaissance. The designer duo presented their own vision of a doublet – a narrow male waistcoat with voluminous sleeves. Which it was customary to wear over the shirt, turning it into gentle feminine dresses and tops with a decorative red stitch. Designers are completely immersed in the study of the interaction of completely different and opposite epochs and things. So femininity was combined with masculinity, tenderness with rudeness, and excessive theatricality with utilitarianism.
In the spring / summer collection of 2018 Chakshyn you could see the tops with huge ruffles and tightening ribbons, dresses with spitz, voluminous vests with an outlocked outlock and deconstructed trench coats with thin belts. Jeans, denim jackets, shirts in the collection were made in the patchwork technique, and the skirts turned into transformers.
This year, the Ukrainian brand Chakshyn celebrates two years. During this time, the designer duet of Dima Chayun and Anton Yakshin managed to get into the main program of Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days. To present a collaboration with Intertop. Also to receive the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Prize award as the best young brand. And to create a charity capsule of T-shirts #НамДоброеДелоПоПлечу.
