Bouchra Jarrar presented the latest collection for Lanvin
Over the past couple of years, Lanvin has experienced many changes in the concept, but the most significant of them fell to leadership positions.
It all began with the departure of Albert Elbaz from the post of creative director in 2016. The designer headed Lanvin Fashion House for 14 years. On replacement came Bouchra Jarrar, a French designer with Moroccan roots. After only a year of work, the fashion designer leaves the post. Bouchra Jarrar explained her departure with constant pressure from the leadership.
«I wanted to completely devote myself to the work, restart Lanvin, so I closed my own brand. But I needed the full support of the House, it was impossible to fulfill my plans alone», — says the designer.
The last collection of Bouchra Jarrar for Lanvin Fashion House was the cruise collection 2018. The last word of the designer turned out to be reserved and concise. In the collection, Jarrar presented rough masculine shoes with contrasting metallic-leather inserts for a couple with playful boats called kitten heels. There were dresses made of silk with an accent on the waist or straight cut with small decorative assemblies at the collar as ornaments. Bouchra Jarrar introduced a leather bomb in combination with a wide waist with high waist. Classical black tuxedos designer advises to dress on the naked body, adding long pearl threads.
For a cruise, the designer uses coarse shoes with contrasting inserts of metallized leather and kitten heels. Silk dresses with a tightening at the waist or straight cut are complemented by small decorative assemblies at the collar. The leather bomb Jarrar suggests combining with wide pants at the high waist, and silk tuxedos worn on the naked body complete with pearl threads.
Particular attention in her latest collection for Lanvin Bouchra Jarrar gave small handbags and bags. The designer covered them with floral motifs, choosing bright emerald seals, bronze lame and textured jacquard. As prints Bouchra Jarrar chose daisies. This flower was not chosen by chance. The designer filled it with symbolism, because in translation from French, this flower means a woman’s name. This is how the founder of the Fashion House Lanvin named her daughter.
